This work encapsulates one of my favorite views of Cania Gorge so far.  Focal point is a really big feature of this work. Your eye is drawn south by the use of line through the middle of the gorge to the center of the work. I visited this area early in the morning and that is why you can see such a dramatic contrast of colours in the cliffs. The sun is rising over the eastern cliffs – Mount Dowgo in fact, but they are still in shadow – and the sunlight is cast on the western cliffs enhancing the colours. I really enjoy the tension created by the use of colour, between the two cliffs. When you stand and view this landscape out in the field, it almost envelops you. You are surrounded on both sides by these ridges of colour. This artwork tells a story – and shows just how diverse and beautiful the colour within the Cania Gorge cliffs can be.
