Mt Dowgo | Fine Art Reproduction
Mount Dowgo was painted around the same time as Eagle cliff. You can see the similar colour tones coming through.
I find Mount Dowgo to be the most spectacular cliff face. Heading north through the Gorge, up to the Dam, Mount Dowgo is on your right. And it just dominates the skyline. This painting is a cropped section – I was intrigued by the cracks and formations present in this particular part of the cliff.
I love the ‘happy accident’ in this work. The way the paint drip has followed the corrugation of the cliff – zig-zagging its way down by gravity. I could not have achieved that and made it look so effortless, even if I had tried.
