Southern View | Original Australian Landscape Art
An original painting depicting the landscape and surrounds of Cania George, located 10 minutes north of the township of Monto in Central Queensland, Australia.
Southern View belongs to a series of artworks titled 'Cania Cliffs' by emerging Australian painter, Helen May Artist.
This artwork has been completed with high quality, gallery standard materials and comes professionally framed with a natural oak float frame.
Southern view and A Winter Sky 1 & 2 are all painted with the same soft colour palette and they all represent the same area. As the name suggests ‘Southern View’ looks down the valley of the Gorge. This scene was captured on Paul and Mia’s property – out in the middle of one of their paddocks – A beautiful spot. Mount Wacondee rises to the right of these works. This gorgeous ‘butter’ yellow describes how the grass has hayed-off, reminiscent of a Monto winter!
Southern view has a lovely composition and focal point. The eye is forced to follow this leading line immediately within the foreground and is drawn back to the center of the work. Three Moon Creek rests within the tree-line to the left, before the rising structure of Mt Dowgo.
